ZooMS was created by Mike Buckley during his PhD as a means to fingerprint bone collagen after discovering that osteocalcin, the original focus of his work, did not survive intact particularly well. However, peptide mass fingerprinting is equally applicable to a range of tissues such as skin, eggshell and hair.
